What is a virtual assistant?

The basics. A virtual assistant is someone who offers technical, administrative, or creative support services from a remote location. They can take on a varied range of tasks or you may just require one specialty from them. By completing these recurring tasks and administrative work, they free up time for business owners to concentrate on developing their business or concentrating on the parts they enjoy. Virtual Assistants come under many job titles depending on their skill specialty and their personal preference. However, all of these roles are provided virtually to the client from the VAs home or office. What's the difference between a VA and a staff member? VAs work as independent contractors meaning business owners do not have to cover their holidays, insurance, or benefits, nor do they have to pay for costly office space or equipment. Virtual Assistants are a great short-term resource to quickly grow a business, cover staff for short periods, or hire for a particular skill. In the long term, they can be an essential part of the everyday running of your business but in a time-efficient way, you are only paying for the work that is done for you. How do I hire a good virtual assistant? With more people looking for a quick financial fix or stay-at-home income the number of virtual assistants available has grown, it is often advertised as an easy side hustle or way to make some quick pocket money. It's such an annoyance for more experienced and established VAs who are finding out potential clients are being ripped off or duped. When you start the process of looking for a good VA do your homework, ask your network for referrals. You can also look at the directory of the Society of Virtual Assistants where they have to fulfill certain professional requirements to be a member MY VIRTUAL ASSISTANT SERVICES I offer general administration, document editing, data entry, newsletter production, event management, desk-based research; as well as a range of social media services.
